String Bean Casserole

What You'll Need

  • 1 10 oz. package Imagine® Condensed  Creme of Mushroom Soup
  • 1/2 cup Almond Dream® non-dairy beverage (or substitute whole milk)
  • 3 1/2 oz. package shiitake mushroom, stemmed and sliced thin
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, rough chopped
  • 1 pound string beans, halved and par-boiled
  • kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 2.8 oz can fried onion

How to Make

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350ºF. Grease a medium sized casserole dish.
  2. In a small pot combine Imagine® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup with the Almond Dream® non-dairy beverage, mushrooms and thyme.
  3. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Season with salt & pepper, if desired.
  5. Place the green beans in the greased casserole and top with the sauce, allowing the mushrooms to remain layered evenly on top.
  6. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes
  7. Place the fried onions on top.
  8. Continue to bake for 5 more minutes until golden and bubbly. Serve hot.
