Organic agriculture strives to deliver food of the highest quality, without the use of toxic chemical pesticides or fertilizers. Foods grown organically are minimally processed to maintain the food’s integrity without artificial ingredients, preservatives and irradiation. Organic farmers use natural methods, including cover crops, compost, and biologically based soil amendments to nourish and replenish the earth and deliver the highest quality crops. To be certified organic, farmers must follow organic farming practices for three years to ensure that the soil is free of fertilizers, pesticides and any other chemicals. Certified organic products, such as Imagine Organic Soups and Broths, are processed according to the strictest standards and are monitored on an on-going basis by an independent certifying agency.
